Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action

An inter-generational Jewish movement to confront the climate crisis with spiritual audacity and bold action.

The climate crisis is the defining challenge of the 21st century, and confronting it will require   bold collective action. That’s why Dayenu: A Jewish Call to Climate Action is mobilizing American Jews of all generations to respond to the climate crisis with spiritual audacity and bold  action. Founded in 2020, Dayenu is creating pathways for collective action, joining multi-faith and broader climate justice movements for greater impact, and supporting Jews and Jewish communities to grapple with the experience of living in this time.

As the nation’s Jewish address for climate action, Dayenu has developed strategies to engage a wide spectrum of American Jews across generations and affiliations, leverage existing networks, and complement current efforts within and beyond the Jewish community to win climate solutions. Through local and national organizing efforts, Dayenu’s vision for change rests on building a dynamic nationwide Jewish movement that is stepping up to confront the climate crisis.

What sets Dayenu apart from other efforts to combat climate change is its capacity to organize and mobilize Jews to advocate for policy changes at the state and national levels — and to inspire a unified Jewish movement for climate justice. Dayenu’s bold vision demands that we act powerfully and effectively to bring about a world in which all people can live vibrant, sustainable lives, knowing that the same will be true for generations to come.
