LEV Children's Museum

Finding meaning and delight in Jewish identity through the power of play.

LEV Children’s Museum creatively engages children and their adults in multi-sensory, hands-on experiences to explore Jewish culture, values, and community. Regardless of age, learning style, or prior experiences with Judaism, people who engage with LEV are able to fill their Jewish journeys with pride and intention.

Founded in 2018 with a primary focus on the Jewish community in South Florida, LEV is pioneering several new models for Jewish engagement. Its non-denominational Sunday School program called “Free to Explore” provides neurodiverse children and children with special needs a specialized Jewish education. Gaining an individualized, multisensory curriculum, each child is matched with a 1-on-1 teen mentor who receives weekly training and works alongside inclusion coordinator and teachers. LEV also offers monthly kits with food, art, recipes, games and crafts for kids to engage with Judaism at home. Adjustable for differing interests, learning styles and ages, the kits are shipped nationwide and allow learners to explore Jewish holidays and values.

Finally, LEV’s one-of-a-kind ‘museum on wheels’ allows visitors to venture through “Bubbe’s Kitchen,” a magnet map of Israel, and interactive play-based exhibits about upcoming holidays. The museum pops up in parks, neighborhoods, community events and institutions.

In its first three-and-a-half years of operation, LEV Children’s Museum has reached over 1500 children, more than 300 parents and grandparents, close to 500 educators and lay leaders, and has collaborated with approximately 50 partnering institutions.
